Colin Titcomb doesn’t miss any Lynx games—and even in the large Target Center crowd, it’s pretty difficult to miss him.

“Just look for the crazy, loud guy with the beads and the scarf!” He says.

Titcomb has been a season ticket holder for 15 seasons now, and he doesn’t plan on stopping the trend any time soon. Before Minnesota had a team, the basketball fan watched WNBA games here and there; when the Lynx got started, he was hooked. He attended his first game during the team’s inaugural season.

“I was looking for some entertainment on a Saturday afternoon, and I saw the Lynx were hosting the Houston Comets,” Titcomb said. “I went to the game, sitting in the upper bowl, and I had a great time!”

Although the Lynx lost that game, they had gained another fan. Titcomb attended every remaining game that year, and the following year he purchased season tickets. Since that time, the super fan has missed only five regular-season games: four for work events, and one game he missed due to two close friends—also Lynx fans—getting married.

Titcomb has watched countless talented players come through the Lynx system over the years. Currently, his favorite player is Seimone Augustus.

“I watched Seimone and her LSU compatriots play—and beat—the Gopher Women’s basketball team during Seimone’s junior year,” Titcomb explained. “Her smooth-as-silk jumper and that magnificent crossover move of hers caught my eye!”

Titcomb continued to follow Augustus through her remaining time at LSU, and he was thrilled to see her join the Lynx in 2006. Since the forward came to Minnesota, Titcomb has had several brief conversations with her after games or at team events.

“Her friendliness, laid-back demeanor and cool personality have made me an even bigger fan,” Titcomb said.

He also appreciates Asjha Jones, new to the roster for the 2015 season. Being an all-around WNBA fan, Titcomb recognized Jones’ talent as part of Connecticut’s lineup, and now having her in Minnesota has been a major asset for the roster.

“I love Asjha’s disruptive and relentless defense,” Titcomb said. “Plus, she has hit several clutch shots in recent games to help the Lynx take the lead and ultimately win.”

Titcomb loves watching the Lynx from the stands, but he gets involved in whatever ways possible outside of games, as well. When it comes to fan experiences, Titcomb sets the bar high. He considers himself fortunate to have had several unique opportunities with the team.

In 2004, Titcomb competed in a shooting contest at the Target Center for a chance to win $101,000—he attempted to make a layup, free throw and three-point shot in a certain amount of time. Just barely missing the attempt from the charity stripe, Titcomb took home $1,000 for a successful layup.

Another memory that stands out happened in 2011, when Titcomb entered a contest the team held. As a winner of the contest, he earned the opportunity to announce the Lynx’s starting lineup prior to a preseason game at Concordia College. The fan encountered a couple glitches, but he said it didn’t make the experience any less exciting.

“My microphone—and that of the actual PA announcer—[stopped working] just before I was to go ‘live,” explained Titcomb, “so I ended up standing right next to the team and yelling as loud as I could.”

Fortunately, yelling loudly is not a problem for this Fan of the Pack—and his fellow Lynx fans will attest to that. Titcomb has developed several close friends over his years of being a season ticket holder, and every year he loves to meet new people who support the team alongside him.

“I’d love for [more] fans to get to know me not just as the “Human Prowl” (one of my fellow fans gave me that nickname recently), but beyond the beads, the scarf, and the bombastic fan that I am!” Titcomb said.

When asked his favorite Lynx moment this season, he said that moment hasn’t happened yet… but he is confident that it’s approaching.

“My favorite highlight will be when ‘DosLynx’ become ‘TresLynx’ after we regain what is ours: the 2015 WNBA Championship!”

After clinching a spot in the WNBA Playoffs, Titcomb feels the team is well on its way to doing just that.
