Everything You Need to Know About Game 1 of the 2024 WNBA Playoffs: Minnesota Lynx vs. Phoenix Mercury on September 22

Both teams have plenty of playoff experience, the Lynx have reached the finals with Hiedeman (once), Williams (twice), and McBride in 2020.
Despite a recent loss to Los Angeles without Collier or McBride, the Lynx enter the playoffs in great form, winning 14 of their last 16 games. The Mercury, meanwhile, finished with a 3-7 record in their last 10. Minnesota tied with New York for the best home record (16-4), including two wins over Phoenix, who were 9-11 on the road.
The Lynx have had consistent success against Phoenix, winning 26 of their last 31 regular-season matchups and going 6-0 in the playoffs since 2015. Their defense, which limited Phoenix to under 40% shooting and 29% on threes, will be key in the postseason.
