Danielle Robinson Picks Up Assist No. 1,000

In the first half of Saturday’s game against the New York Liberty, Lynx point guard Danielle Robinson tallied assist No. 1,000. That’s a very high number that only 27 other players in WNBA history have reached.

Robinson didn’t just get to 1,000 assists, she did it remarkably quickly. The speedy point guard just turned 30 last month. She is the eighth-youngest player to collect 1,000 assists in the WNBA. She’s also the ninth-fastest player to reach that mark, doing so in 226 career games.

Robinson is No. 10 among active players in career assists.

The way Robinson pushes the ball in transition creates a ton of opportunities for her teammates. She’s incredibly dangerous when she gets on the attack because her opponents simply can’t keep up with her. Sometimes that leads to her getting clean looks at the rim and sometimes she’ll dish it off.

Robinson’s assist numbers are certainly impressive and as she continues to learn the tendencies of her new teammates they will only rise. Here’s to many more seasons of D-Rob dimes.
