Collier Leads Lynx To 4th Quarter Surge, Win Over Dream

What a win and what a performance it was from the Lynx and their rookie on Tuesday night in Atlanta.

The Lynx came away with an 85-69 win over the Dream, thanks to a 30-12 fourth-quarter run from Minnesota.

This season, we’ve seen the Lynx shrink in the fourth quarter. That wasn’t the case in this one. While some of that can be contributed to Seimone Augustus’ season debut (Augustus finished with eight points and four assists), the main contributor to that was rookie and All-Star Napheesa Collier.

Collier finished the game with a game-high 22 points to go with 11 rebounds and five assists. Thirteen of those 22 points came in the final quarter.

Fellow All-Stars Odyssey Sims and Sylvia Fowles pitched in as well. Sims finished with 13 points (nine coming from the free-throw line), four rebounds and four assists. Fowles added 12 points and 11 rebounds, while becoming the fourth player in WNBA history to block 600 career shots.

While the Lynx should beat the Dream (Atlanta falls to 5-18), it doesn’t take away the value of it for the Lynx. The win improves the Lynx to 11-11 overall, still eighth in the West, but just a half game out from both the seven and six seeds.

Julian Andrews will be giving you three takeaways on Wednesday morning. Until then.
