Collective Effort Brings Third Straight Win

Notes from Sunday’s win…

  • Kayla McBride finished the night with a team-high and season-high 19 points, shooting 4-of-7 from deep, four rebounds and four assists. Of her 19 points, 12 of them came in the first quarter as she connected on three triples.
  • With her fourth field goal of the night, McBride connected on her 1000th made field goal.
  • Sylvia Fowles recorded 17 points and a game-high seven rebounds, adding two assists and a career-high-tying five steals.  The five steals mark the fifth time she’s swiped five (fourth in a Lynx uniform).
  • Per Across the Timeline, tonight marked Fowles’ 200th regular season victory (91 with Chicago and 109 with Minnesota).
  • At the final buzzer, Napheesa Collier tallied 14 points, six rebounds and a game-high six assists. With her 13th minute of the night, Collier notched her 2000th career minute.
  • Off the bench, Rachel Banham scored 13 points, shooting a perfect 5-of-5 from the field, adding 3-of-3 from beyond the arc. She tallied two assists and one steal in 15:22 minutes.
  • Crystal Dangerfield registered 17 points in 25:45 minutes off the bench shooting 50.0% from the field (4-of-8) and a perfect 7-of-7 from the free throw line. She also grabbed five rebounds and dished out four assists.

Team Notes

  • The Lynx become the second fastest team in WNBA history to reach the 400-win mark, doing so in 735 games. Only Los Angeles reached 400 wins faster (664 games). They are now the fourth team in league history to have 400 wins joining Los Angeles, Orlando/Connecticut and Phoenix.
  • Tonight’s 100-80 victory accounted for the 20th regular season game (24th overall) that the team has scored 100+ points. The most recent time prior to tonight was Sept. 12, 2017 vs Washington in the 2017 WNBA Semifinals.
  • The Lynx were credited with 20 fast break points tonight, their top total since tallying 21 vs. Las Vegas on Aug. 25, 2019 at Target Center. Dating to the 2012 season, Minnesota has won 24 consecutive games when scoring 20+ fast break points (36-2 all-time).
  • Minnesota registered season highs tonight in points (100), assists (26), steals (12), field goals made (35), three-pointers made (11), three-point percentage (44.0%), free throws made (19), turnovers forced (20), points off turnovers (26) and bench scoring (38).
  • Per Dream PR, the Lynx were the first team to shoot at least 50.0% against them, doing so in two straight games. Additionally, Minnesota’s 100 points mark the most points scored by a Dream opponent this season.
  • Minnesota jumped out to a 29-23 lead against the Dream at the end of the first quarter. The 29 points mark a season-high for points scored in the first quarter.
  • Minnesota collected a season-high 52 points at half, just one point more than their previous high of 51 against Phoenix on May 14, 2021.
  • The Lynx have beaten Atlanta in 12 of their last 13 meetings in Target Center, with the Dream’s lone victory in that span an 86-66 decision on Aug. 5, 2018.
