Bally Sports North to Carry All Non-Nationally Produced Lynx Games for 2022 Season

MINNEAPOLIS/ST. PAUL – The Minnesota Lynx today announced their broadcast schedule for the 2022 WNBA season. In a landmark multi-year deal, Bally Sports North (BSN) will carry 32 fully-produced games that will be carried on BSN or BSN Extra. The deal is positioned to serve as an impetus for continued expanded media coverage of women’s athletics.

The 2022 season features a league record-high 36 regular-season games from May 6 through Aug. 14.  Four nationally televised Lynx games will air on ESPN2 (May 8 vs. Washington, June 14 vs. Seattle, June 28 vs. Dallas) and ABC (Aug. 14 at Connecticut).

Bally Sports North coverage begins on Friday, May 6 when the Lynx open their season on the road against Seattle (tip scheduled for 9:00 p.m. CT). Minnesota’s home opener at Target Center will be nationally televised on ESPN2 on Sunday, May 8 at 6:00 p.m. CT with a matchup against Washington.

2021 Minnesota Sportscaster of the Year Marney Gellner enters her 12th season as television play-by-play announcer and recent 2022 NCAA Legacy Award winner Lea B. Olsen enters her 14th season as color analyst. Former Lynx play-by-play announcer and Big Ten Network broadcaster, Sloane Martin also joins the award-winning team this season as sideline reporter and will handle play-by-play for select games.

Fans can also get an up-close look at Lynx players during “Inside the Lynx,” two all-new specials debuting May 6 at 8:30 p.m. CT and May 21 at 9:00 p.m. CT.

“Bally Sports North’s commitment to carrying all non-nationally televised Lynx games is a testament to the ever growing popularity of the WNBA,” said Timberwolves and Lynx CEO Ethan Casson. “We look forward to providing this expanded coverage to our loyal fan base for many years to come.”

“We are thrilled to continue our partnership with the Minnesota Lynx with expanded full season coverage,” said Senior Vice President and General Manager of Bally Sports North Mike Dimond. “Fans now have the opportunity to watch amazing Lynx basketball throughout the region, bringing more game day action to their homes.”
