Achonwa, Carleton Power Canada Past South Korea

Bouncing back from their opening loss to Serbia, the Minnesota Lynx tandem of Natalie Achonwa and Bridget Carleton combined to lead Canada past South Korea, 74-53, late Wednesday evening in Tokyo.

Achonwa stuffed the box score with 14 points, 10 rebounds, and five assists in the victory, all Olympic highs for the Guelph, Ontario product. Carleton, meanwhile, scored a game-high 18 points for her country. The Chatham, Ontario native Carleton connected on 6-of-11 from the field, and cashed a perfect 5-of-5 from the free throw line.
