The Minnesota Lynx begin a three-game road trip on Friday night when they take on the San Antonio Stars at AT&T Center in San Antonio.

The Lynx come into the game at a WNBA-best 23-6 overall, while the Stars enter at 7-24 overall and are in 12th place.

Here are three tidbits as we enter Friday’s contest:

  • The game will be Minnesota’s second game live streamed on Twitter. To view the game, visit wnba.twitter.com.
  • The road trip the Lynx are beginning on Friday night will be the first game of a three-game, eight-day road trip. Minnesota will return for two final home games on Sept. 1 and Sept. 3 to end the regular season.
  • The Lynx are 10-4 on the road this season, while the Stars are 6-10 in front of their home crowd at AT&T Center.

Coming Off Of…

Minnesota is coming off of a 105-69 win over the Phoenix Mercury on Tuesday in St. Paul.

Maya Moore had 21 points and three assists and Jia Perkins added 18 points and three rebounds off the bench to lead the Lynx. Sylvia Fowles had 14 points, 10 rebounds and three blocks, Natasha Howard had 12 points and eight rebounds, Alexis Jones had 11 points, Plenette Pierson had nine points and Seimone Augustus and Renee Montgomery each finished with eight points.

San Antonio is coming off of a 75-55 loss to the Los Angeles Sparks on Tuesday in Los Angeles.

Alex Montgomery had 12 points and seven rebounds and Kayla Alexander had 11 points and four rebounds to lead the Stars. Kelsey Plum had nine points and five rebounds and Isabelle Harrison and Dearica Hamby each had six points in the game.

Last Matchup

Minnesota holds a 2-0 season series advantage over San Antonio this season. The last matchup came on June 25, with Minnesota winning 87-78.

In that game, Fowles had 22 points and 10 rebounds and Moore had 22 points and four rebounds. Lindsay Whalen had 13 points, four rebounds and four assists, Howard had eight points and four rebounds, Rebekkah Brunson had four points and 10 rebounds and Montgomery added four points and two assists.

For the Stars, Moriah Jefferson had 19 points and eight assists, Kayla McBride had 17 points and six rebounds, Isabelle Harrison had 13 points and nine rebounds and Montgomery and Sequoia Holmes each had seven points.

Friday’s game is the third and final game between Minnesota and San Antonio this season.

Key Matchup: Seimone Augustus vs. Kayla McBride

One matchup to watch out for in Friday night’s game will come between Minnesota’s Seimone Augustus and San Antonio’s Kayla McBride.

So far this season, Augustus is averaging 11 points, four assists and three rebounds.

In 27 games, McBride is averaging 15.2 points (14th in WNBA), 3.9 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 1.1 steals per game.

Minnesota: Whalen (left hand) and Brunson (left ankle) are out.
