Can we go home yet? The Minnesota Lynx will surely be glad to get home and stay there for awhile. The Lynx were in New York Friday night taking on the league-leading Liberty and, despite great games from forward Maya Moore and center Sylvia Fowles, Minnesota suffered defeat, losing 81-68. Despite holding just a five point lead at the half, the Liberty used their defense in the third quarter – holding Minnesota to just 11 points in the quarter – to pull away from the Lynx.
The Lynx have now lost four of their last five games yet still hold a two game lead over the Phoenix Mercury for first place in the Western Conference.
After spending seemingly the month of August on the road, the Lynx now return home to Target Center where they will play four-straight games starting with Sunday’s game against the Mercury.
The game was a tough contest between the teams with the two best records in the league and for most of the game, both teams played like it. There were many highlights and great plays and for the fans that may have missed it, they can check out some of these great photos from Friday night’s action with this game’s photo gallery.
