Several Lynx Players Break Records In Win Over Mystics

Yesterday was a great day to be a Lynx fan. Minnesota took down the Mystics and got back to its winning ways, fighting for a tough victory on the road. Additionally, several Lynx players reached career landmarks in the game.

With the victory, the trio of Rebekkah Brunson, Maya Moore, and Lindsay Whalen earned their 155th win together and became the winningest trio of players in WNBA history. They passed Tamecka Dixon, Lisa Leslie and Mwadi Mabika of the Los Angeles Sparks.

Other trios of Lynx players, all including Seimone Augustus, hold the third, fourth, and fifth spots on the list. It’s very possible that by the end of the season, groups of Lynx players will hold at least the top three spots.

Speaking of Augustus, the Lynx guard reached an individual milestone last night. With a three-pointer at the end of the third quarter, Augustus passed DeLisha Milton-Jones to move to 11th on the WNBA’s all-time scoring list.

Augustus has scored 5,573 career points. She needs another 113 to pass Candice Dupree and move to 10th place.

The Lynx have always put their team before individual accomplishments, so they were probably happy to get the win over everything yesterday. However, it’s nice to see the Lynx’s legacy cementing itself in the history books as well.
