Preseason Scouting Report | Lynx vs. Mystics

4:00 p.m., Rochester Civic Center

The Lynx will play their final preseason game on Sunday afternoon against the Washington Mystics in Rochester, Minn.

Minnesota will look to play a complete game and polish their skills as the regular season tips-off in only six days.

Keep these interesting factoids in mind regarding the matchup this afternoon:

– It’s Mother’s day! Don’t forget to call your mom and wish her a very Happy Mother’s Day.

– Minnesota added a familiar face on Saturday, May 7th, in former Lynx forward Janel McCarville. In 2014, the Minnesota Gopher’s alum averaged 7.9 points and 4.8 rebounds for Minnesota.

– The Lynx will still be without Olympian Seimone Augustus and All-Star forward Rebekkah Brunson, who are both still playing basketball overseas.

Coming Off Of…

Washington lost 89-69 on Friday, May 6th, to the Indiana Fever in a game where the Mystics had 24 turnovers and shot a disappointing 36.8 percent from the field. Kahleah Copper led Washington with 13 points on 3-for-5 shooting and Zoi Dimitrakou played well off the bench with 10 points.

Minnesota beat the New York Liberty on Thursday, May 5th, 77-74, due to a great performance by Renee Montgomery (17 points), and 10 points each from Maya Moore and Sylvia Fowles. Two new faces that played well for the Lynx were Bashaara Graves and Sydney Wallace, who both put in nine points for Minnesota.

Last Matchup:

These two teams last battled on Wednesday, Aug. 19th, 2015, with the Mystics dominating 79-61.

Kara Lawson and Ivory Latta combined for 36 points, six rebounds and seven assists to lead Washington to a solid victory.

Minnesota struggled all game putting the ball in the hoop, only shooting 34.4 percent from the field. Sylvia Fowles led Minnesota with 13 points.

Key Matchup: Maya Moore vs. Kahleah Copper

After leading the Mystics with 13 points and six rebounds in their loss on Friday, Copper will have her hands full going against Moore. The former first overall selection out of the University of Connecticut didn’t play much in their first preseason game, so look for Moore to tally more minutes and over power her defender.

Projected Starters:

Washington: G- Cloud, G- Ruffin-Pratt, F- Hawkins, F- Copper, C- Dolson

Minnesota: G- Whalen, G- Perkins, F- Moore, F- Howard, C- Fowles
