No Surprise, Moore Is In The Middle Of Postseason Run Overseas

The Lynx don’t begin their regular season until late May, but many of their players play overseas in the offseason, including Minnesota star Maya Moore.

Moore plays for the Russian club UMMC Ekaterinburg along with fellow WNBA star Brittney Griner, who plays for the Phoenix Mercury. Unsurprisingly, Ekaterinburg has had a successful season and is in the midst of a postseason run. On Friday morning, they will face Dynamo Kursk in the EuroBasket semifinals. Lynx fans, if you want an early look at Maya Moore’s play before the season, tune in at 10 a.m. CT on Friday. The game will be broadcast live on YouTube.

In their last game, Ekaterinburg took down ZVVZ USK Praha 73-54. Moore didn’t have her shot going, but she still scored 13 points. Moore also led the team in assists with eight and added 11 rebounds.

Ekaterinburg’s opponent, Dynamo Kursk, won’t be an easy out. They are the EuroLeague Women defending champions, and finished this season with a 16-0 record. Dynamo Kursk is led by EuroLeague MVP Sonja Petrovic, a Serbian forward who has been a EuroLeague fixture for years.

It’s been a long offseason for Lynx fans, but if you’re looking for a little good competition to hold you over until May, this should be a great game. You can find even more details on the FIBA website.
