Moore, Fowles Named To AP All-WNBA Second Team

The WNBA season is over, which means awards season is underway.

On Tuesday, Sylvia Fowles was named the AP Defensive Player of the Year. Additionally, Fowles and teammate Maya Moore were both named to the AP All-WNBA Second Team.

Fowles finished the season with averages of 17.7 points, 11.9 rebounds, 2.2 assists, 1.4 steals and 1.2 blocks per game. She was incredibly efficient, shooting 61.9 percent from the field. She also set a new WNBA record for rebounds in a season.

Moore averaged 18.0 points, 5.1 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 1.6 steals on the season. Her best game of the season came on July 21, when she scored 38 points and added 6 rebounds in a win in Phoenix.

Fowles and Moore led the Lynx in almost every statistical category this season. Moore led the team in points and steals, while Sylvia led them in rebounds, minutes, field goal percentage and blocks.
