Minnesota Lynx Renounce Rights to Rachel Jarry

MINNEAPOLIS/ST. PAUL –  The Minnesota Lynx today announced the team has renounced its rights to forward Rachel Jarry.

Originally chosen by the Atlanta Dream in the second round (18th overall) of the 2011 WNBA Draft, Jarry was acquired by the Lynx, along with a second-round pick in 2012, in a draft-day trade (April 11, 2011) for the rights to the 14th overall choice (Felicia Chester).

Jarry played 27 games with the Lynx during the 2013 season averaging 1.7 points and 0.7 rebounds per game while shooting 44.4% from the field. She appeared in five of Minnesota’s seven playoff games en route to capturing the 2013 WNBA Championship. She missed the entirety of the 2014 and 2015 seasons due to injury and sat out the 2016 season to compete with the Australian Women’s National Team at the 2016 Rio Olympic Games.

The Lynx will tip off their 19th season in the WNBA with their home opener on Sunday, May 14 at 6:00 p.m. at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul.  Full-season memberships, which include tickets to all 17 home games and priority playoff seating, are still available by visiting www.lynxbasketball.com/membership or by calling 612-673-8400.
