Media Day 2015 has come and gone for the Minnesota Lynx and, per usual, there was no shortage of fun and excitement.

There was quite a bit of buzz, and rightfully so, about the new practice facility, the Courts at Mayo Clinic, that Media Day was being hosted in. Players had nothing but good things to say about the new facility, some even saying that it could arguably be the best in all of basketball. That is some very high praise.

As the players paid their visits to the individual media outlets, the topics discussed were, as expected at Media Day, fun and light.

Guard Lindsay Whalen caught fans up on what television shows she has most recently been watching, forward Devereaux Peters reassured everyone that her YouTube show would have more episodes soon, and forward Maya Moore received Whalen’s endorsement should a dunk contest be added to the WNBA All-Star festivities.

Speaking of the dunk contest, maybe Seimone Augustus should be considered as well, at least according to other Lynx players. One of the lighter moments of the day was when one of the backboards in the facility cracked. No glass fell and no one was injured, the backboard just cracked. Lynx players joked that Augustus dunked and cracked it from sheer strength of the dunk. Augustus jokingly played along saying that she has the strength to do it so of course she caused the crack.

Overall, Media Day is just a fun event that shouldn’t be taken too seriously. It’s a chance to find out how players are doing health-wise entering the season, ask some fun and crazy questions that may not get asked otherwise and, more importantly, it’s a chance for fans to see the various personalities of players and coaches.
