MINNEAPOLIS/ST. PAUL – The Minnesota Lynx and Explore Minnesota will launch a virtual reality experience at the team’s home game on July 15 that will allow fans to explore local Minnesota landmarks and view behind the scenes Lynx footage.
The local landmarks shown include Minnehaha Falls, The Midway at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds and Hollow Rock. The video will also feature the Lynx practicing and a look inside their team huddle. The video will be played on a VR headset located on the concourse level outside of Section 106. The virtual reality experience will be available at Lynx home games on July 15, July 22, August 28 and September 17.
The Lynx and Explore Minnesota worked with Visual, a Minneapolis-based virtual reality company, to produce the video. This activation marks the first usage of virtual reality for the Lynx and the entire Timberwolves and Lynx organization.
“We’re thrilled to work with these great organizations to share the best of Minnesota in virtual reality,” said Visual CEO Chuck Olsen. “Now anyone can get immersed in Minnesota’s natural beauty, or feel what it’s like to be on-court with the world champion Minnesota Lynx.”
