On August 11, you’ll be able to play as your favorite WNBA players and teams for the first time ever.

The WNBA and EA SPORTS announced Thursday morning that the WNBA will be available on this year’s edition of the NBA LIVE 18 video game, which can be played Xbox One and PlayStation 4.

This is the first time the official WNBA roster of teams and players will appear in a video game. It will be available only on NBA LIVE 18.

In a league that is continuing to try and get more eyes and attention on the game, this is another big step for the WNBA.

“It’s really exciting stuff. It’s something our players have talked about for a long time,” Lynx head coach Cheryl Reeve said. “We have been around for 20 years and obviously these players, they are gamers themselves, some of them. . . To be included feels good and feels like the right thing. It feels like good business, because I think now you opened up another segment of people interested in buying. I would suspect that it would grow the business a little bit and it’s fun. I’m going to go buy it.

“It’s really cool now, because if you think about it, the gamers that maybe weren’t interested in women’s basketball but now it’s an option and you go in there and mess around with it a little bit and you start learning about the players and who can do what, you’re more knowledgeable about the league and who plays for who,” Reeve added. “I think there’s opportunities for growth all around in addition to it being a really fun thing.”

In the trailer that was released by EA SPORTS on Thursday, the Lynx make a few appearances in the video.

At the two-second mark, you see Maya Moore greeting Indiana Fever’s Marissa Coleman before a game.

At the 21-second mark, Moore drives to the hoop on the Lynx home court, being greeted by Sylvia Fowles after making a basket.

You can check out the full 44-second trailer below.

Make sure to get your first look of the game and play with the best of the WNBA when NBA LIVE 18 comes out on Aug. 11.
