**Land O’Lakes to donate 10 pounds of food for every point scored**
MINNEAPOLIS/ST. PAUL – The Minnesota Lynx and Land O’Lakes, Inc. are partnering on a Points for Pounds initiative during the month of September; for every point the Lynx score at home during the regular season, Land O’Lakes will donate 10 pounds of food to Second Harvest Heartland.

“Land O’Lakes is proud to support the Minnesota Lynx and Second Harvest Heartland through the Points for Pounds initiative,” said Vice President of Community Relations and the Land O’Lakes Inc. Foundation, Lydia Botham. “As an agribusiness and food cooperative, we value the importance that Second Harvest Heartland plays in our communities by providing much needed food and support to those struggling to put food on their table.”

Second Harvest Heartland is a member of Feeding America, a network of more than 200 food banks serving every state in the United States. Second Harvest serves 59 counties in Minnesota and western Wisconsin, delivering meals to food shelves, pantries and other partner programs.

September is also Hunger Action Month – the Feeding America network’s nationwide awareness campaign designed to mobilize the public to take action on the issue of hunger.
