Lynx Activate Aerial Powers

 MINNEAPOLIS/ST. PAUL – Minnesota Lynx Head Coach and General Manager Cheryl Reeve today announced the team has activated guard Aerial Powers and in a subsequent move the replacement contract of guard Layshia Clarendon has been terminated. Powers will be listed as probable ahead of Saturday night’s game vs Los Angeles.  

Powers, a six-year veteran, appeared in three games for Minnesota averaging 11.0 points, 5.0 rebounds, 4.3 assists and 1.3 blocks in 27.4 minutes per game. In her season debut for the Lynx, Powers registered 18 points, shooting 7-of-16 from the field, a perfect 3-of-3 from the free throw line, hauled in 6 rebounds, added three assists and two blocks.  

Clarendon is in their ninth WNBA season and was originally signed by the Lynx on May 30th. She appeared in four contests with the Lynx recording averages of 8.8 points, 3.6 rebounds and 3.6 assists. Clarendon also appeared in one game with the New York Liberty this season.
