The Minnesota Lynx look to build onto their perfect 4-0 season when they face the Connecticut Sun for the second straight game on Friday night in Connecticut.
The Lynx enter the game as the only remaining WNBA team with an undefeated record. The Sun come in at 0-3, looking for their first win in 2017.
Here are a few tidbits entering Friday’s game:
- Minnesota currently has a 21-game winning streak in the month of May, dating back to the 2012 season.
- The Lynx have held their opponents to 74.3 points per game this season, which is fourth-best in the WNBA.
- Connecticut was the only team to hand Minnesota two losses during the regular season in 2016. The Sun held a 2-1 season series advantage over the Lynx.
Coming Off Of…
Minnesota is coming off of an 80-78 win over Connecticut on Tuesday at Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul.
Sylvia Fowles led the way for the Lynx in the game, finishing with 21 points, 13 rebounds, five blocks, four assists and three steals. Seimone Augustus had 16 points and four rebounds, Maya Moore had 12 points, six rebounds and five assists, Rebekkah Brunson had seven points and seven rebounds and Jia Perkins had seven points and two steals off the bench.
For the Sun, Jasmine Thomas had 18 points, five assists and three rebounds. Jonquel Jones had 16 points and five rebounds, Morgan Tuck had 12 points and 10 rebounds and Alyssa Thomas and Alex Bentley each had eight points.
Friday’s game is the second of three matchups between Minnesota and Connecticut this season. The third and final game will come on Jun 17 in St. Paul.
Key Matchup: Lindsay Whalen vs. Jasmine Thomas
One matchup to keep an eye on in Tuesday’s game will come at the point guard position between Minnesota’s Lindsay Whalen and Connecticut’s Jasmine Thomas.
Through four games this season, Whalen is averaging seven points, 4.8 assists and 1.5 rebounds per game for the Lynx.
In three games in 2017, Thomas is averaging 16 points, four assists and 2.5 rebounds per game for the Sun.
