Lynx To Wear Commemorative BHA Jerseys Sunday Against Tulsa

The Minnesota Lynx today announced the team will wear commemorative Breast Health Awareness uniforms during the teams August 19 matchup with the Tulsa Shock in honor of the teams Breast Health Awareness Week, presented by Edith Sanford Breast Cancer Foundation. After the game, the team will auction off their game-worn jerseys on the Target Center floor in support of breast cancer research, with proceeds benefiting the Lynx Foundation.

Our Breast Health Awareness game is always one of our most popular games of the year, said Timberwolves and Lynx President Chris Wright. Its a great opportunity for our organization to give back to the community, and a great chance to help support this incredibly important cause. We are extremely proud to have the opportunity to work with the Edith Sanford Breast Cancer Foundation to raise awareness about breast health research.

Following the conclusion of the game, the team will autograph and auction off their jerseys from that night during a live on-court auction. All proceeds from the auction will benefit the Lynx Foundation, which supports breast cancer research and support programs in the state of Minnesota.

Sundays game against the Tulsa Shock marks the beginning of Minnesotas Breath Health Awareness Week as a part of the WNBAs BHA platform. For 14 years, the program has focused on generating awareness and educating women about breast cancer in addition to raising funds for the initiative. During that time, the WNBA and its teams have raised more than $2 million to aid in the fight against breast cancer.

The Lynx Breath Health Awareness Week will continue on Thursday, August 23 with the teams fourth annual Catwalk for a Cure presented by C.H. Robinson, where the team trades in their jerseys and sneakers for dresses and high heels. The event is held from 5-8 p.m. at the Mall of America Rotunda, and features a silent auction with sports memorabilia, gift certificates and unique experiences. All proceeds from the event benefit the Lynx Foundation.

Tickets are still available for Sundays game, and the rest of the teams remaining home schedule, by calling the Lynx Front Office at 612-673-8400 or by visiting www.lynxbasketball.com.
