Minnesota Timberwolves' New Additions Team Up with Lynx by Purchasing Tickets for Sunday's Playoff Game vs. Phoenix

MINNEAPOLIS/ST. PAUL The newest members of the Minnesota Timberwolves, Anthony Bennett, Zach LaVine, Andrew Wiggins and Thaddeus Young, have teamed up with the Lynx as they host the Phoenix Mercury in Game 2 of the Western Conference Finals on Sunday, August 31 (2:30 p.m. start). In support of the Lynx, Bennett, LaVine, Wiggins and Young have purchased 500 upper level tickets for Sunday afternoon's Game 2 and are offering them to fans for free. Beginning Wednesday at 8 a.m., the first 250 fans that call in to 612-673-8400 will have the opportunity to sit in the Timberwolves seats; limit two per customer.

Minnesota is coming off of a sweep of the San Antonio Stars in the Western Conference Semifinals. The Lynx have not lost a playoff game since the 2012 WNBA Finals and became the first team in WNBA history to string together four consecutive 25+ win seasons (Houston and Los Angeles enjoyed three-year runs). After reaching the WNBA Finals in each of the past three seasons, the Lynx are seeking to become the second team in WNBA history to reach the Finals in four consecutive seasons (Houston 1997-2000). The Lynx would be the first WNBA team to do so in the current best-of-five format.

Last season the Lynx became the fifth team to win two WNBA championships within a three-year span, a group that also includes Houston (1997-98-99-2000), Los Angeles (2001-02), Detroit (2006, 2008) and Phoenix (2007, 2009). Minnesota has the best playoff winning percentage both overall (22-9, .710) and at home (15-2, .882) in league postseason history.

Single-game tickets for the Western Conference Finals and playoff strips, which include tickets to all potential postseason home games, are available for purchase by calling the Lynx at 612-673-8400 or by visiting lynxbasketball.com/lynxtix.
